Commecs College has evolved an Examination System which is a combination of traditional methods of testing and the modern requirements of the present era.
The system aims at assessing students learning abilities through prescribed books and inculcating in them a love for knowledge from other sources.
It envisions a system in which rote learning is replaced by curiosity, imagination and creativity. The day to day class activities carry marks in the term result, i.e. Class Presentations, Quizzes and Group Projects.
The session is divided into three terms. Proper Examinations are held in each term with a different seating arrangement. The papers are set to conform to the BIEK paper pattern. In each term the students are required to appear in minimum two Quizzes and submit two Assignments per subject. Following is the weightage of the Term examination:
The results are promptly compiled and top ten achievers of Commerce, Pre-Engineering and Pre- Medical are announced in the morning assembly.
The effectiveness of any examination system is judged when there is a close collaboration among all the stake holders – parents being the most important.
After each term an extensive Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM) is held to keep parents abreast of their son/daughter/ward’s performance. Dates for PTMs are published in the Academic Calendar and parents are also informed through letters and SMS.
Mark-sheets / transcripts are given to parents, with academic performance, attendance and remarks to share the overall performance of their son/daughter/ward.
Parents also meet teachers to know their children’s strengths or weaknesses in different subjects. Teachers offer remedial strategies for overcoming their problems.
