In 1972, four visionary friends formed Commecs Old Students Association (COSA), the alumni association of the Government College of Commerce and Economics, Karachi. Later in 1988, COSA established the Commecs Educational Trust (CET), a not-for-profit organization certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) in the areas of Program delivery, Internal governance and Financial management.

CET vision is to promote academic excellence by providing seekers of knowledge roots to keep them well-grounded and wings that will enable them to achieve their highest aspirations. The long-term objective is to develop upright and competent citizens who will help ensure the future of the country.
