“Because for our generation, success isn’t one-size-fits-all anymore.”

“Which course are you doing?” “Any plans after graduation?” We’ve all heard these questions a thousand times. For years, success meant grades, degrees, and a stable job. But for Gen Z, that feels too small for the world we’re living in.
Somewhere between deadlines and dreams, we realised success isn’t a straight path-it’s a maze we build ourselves. We’ve watched creators earn millions from their passions, coders drop out and design apps, and artists turn side hustles into full-time jobs. Suddenly, the old “degree equals success” formula doesn’t quite add up.
Of course, education still matters-it opens doors. But what we do after walking through them matters even more. The world no longer asks where you studied, but what you can do and how fast you can learn. Skills, creativity, and adaptability have become the real credentials.
Scroll through your feed and you’ll see it everywhere-students freelancing, building startups, designing brands, writing blogs. We’re a generation unafraid to mix ambition with imagination.
But here’s the flip side: with endless opportunities comes endless comparison. Seeing others “make it” early can sting, and the fear of falling behind creeps in quietly. Sometimes, failure feels heavier when success seems so visible around us. Yet maybe that’s the part we often forget- success isn’t a race; it’s a rhythm. Some find their beat sooner, others later, and that’s perfectly okay.
Because maybe success isn’t a title or salary-it’s a feeling. The quiet pride in doing something meaningful, even if it doesn’t look impressive on paper. The courage to start, stumble, and try again.
Think of success as a painting once limited to familiar shades-grades, degrees, job titles. Now, the palette is ours to explore, filled with colours of creativity, courage, and curiosity. And the beauty lies not in staying inside the lines, but in daring to paint a masterpiece that’s entirely, unapologetically, our own.
